This week you will be receiving new learning packs. There are 3 weeks worth of activities for you to work through. Please remember to try and complete as many activities as you can. I will try to guide you through them daily. Below are some extra learning opportunities for you to try. Enjoy!

Activity 1- Phonics – Teacher Background clipart - Spelling, Teacher, Education ... sh

L.I. to understand that 2 letters can make 1 sound

S.C. I can say the sound to match the letter shape

S.C. I can blend this sound with other sounds to read words

S.C. I can write this sound to spell words

New sound this week is sh. Can you practice saying the sound?

When you say the sound think about the shape of your tongue and lips.

Can you use your terrific blending skills to read the words below?

sh – i – p     sh – o- p     sh – e – l – f      sh – u – t     sh – ee – p   sh – e – d

Use your jotter to practice forming the sh sound. Remember letters on the line and take care with letter size. Challenge – can you think of anymore words with the sh sound in them, can you write them in your jotter?

Please answer the questions below. Remember you can use a numberline or any concrete material that you have.

  4. What number is 1 more than 9?
  5. What number is 2 more than 9?
  6. What is double 3?
  7. What is double 6?
  8. What is double 5 and then add 1?
  9. Order these numbers smallest to largest –  16,17, 13, 18, 11, 15, 12, 14
  10. What is the missing number from this sequence?    14, 15, -_ 17, 18

Over the next few weeks we shall be looking at measuring using non-standard units ( we will be using hand spans, feet, pens etc, to measure) Below is a link to a youtube clip that might be useful as an introduction e.g. why we need to measure?

Activity 4 – Health and Wellbeing

I am an amazing person, that is the name of this activity. I would like you (with some help) to fill in the messages on the balloon. It will help you to think about all the things you can do and what an amazing  and unique person you are! (you can copy the sheet into your jotter) Enjoy!
