Primary 2 - Monday 27th April 2020

Good Morning Primary 2! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! You should now be moving on to your week 4 pack of learning which you can collect from school from 10am – 3pm today. If there are any issues with this, please let us know at wldeans-ps@westlothian.org.uk.

Reading

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/?selLanguage=en&mode=hub.

When you open the site, click the pink button at the top which says “My class login”. The class login details are as follows: username – deansprimary2      password – missborsbey       Once logged in, click the button that says “My Bookshelf”.  This will take you to lots of ebooks. Please have a look below to find out which book to read. Once you have read the book, discuss what you have read. Can you identify the blurb?

Green group – Leek Hotpot

Purple group – By the stream

Pink group – Dad, can you do this?

Yellow group – Clothes for Rain

Blue group – Can you see me?

Numeracy

Here are some questions all about telling the time. Use this clock face to help you.

Can you write down the time 1 hour after:

  • 8 o’clock
  • 12:00
  • Half past 3
  • 4:30

Can you write down the time 2 hours after:

  • 6 o’clock
  • 11:00
  • Half past 5
  • 9:30

Can you write down the time 5 hours after:

  • 12 o’clock
  • 2:00
  • Half past 7
  • 10:00

Have a go at answering these multiplication questions. How did you work out the answer? Can you discuss your strategy with someone at home?

Spelling

Each group has a new spelling sound this week – please see the weekly grid for your spelling and tricky words. Can you write your words in a list? Can you write a silly story all about your day using your spelling and tricky words in the story? I can’t wait to read some of them!

Special Activity

Recently, I have been doing a lot of baking (maybe a bit too much!). One of my favourite things to bake just now is scones! I love to eat them with clotted cream and jam whilst drinking a lovely cup of coffee. If you would like to try out making scones for yourself, follow this link for a super yummy recipe!

I hope you all have a great day and I will be back tomorrow with some more fun activities!
